We serve adolescents ages 12–17.

Primary Fit Anchor: Anxiety, Perfectionism & Identity Development

We provide psychotherapy for teens whose anxiety, emotional intensity, or self-pressure is affecting school performance, relationships, or family functioning.

Common concerns include:

  • Academic pressure and performance anxiety

  • Perfectionism leading to procrastination or burnout

  • Social anxiety or peer conflict

  • Emotional outbursts or shutdown

  • Irritability at home

  • Difficulty expressing needs

  • Low self-esteem or identity confusion

Often, teens want support but struggle to articulate what feels wrong.

Strong Fit Indicators

Teen therapy may be a strong fit when:

  • Anxiety shows up as avoidance, irritability, or overachievement

  • School performance fluctuates due to stress

  • Communication at home feels tense or disconnected

  • A teen appears high-functioning but internally overwhelmed

  • A teen is navigating identity questions or social transitions

We collaborate with parents while preserving developmentally appropriate confidentiality.

Not the Right Fit

We may not be the right fit if:

  • A teen is experiencing active suicidal intent or requires immediate crisis stabilization (call 988 or seek emergency care).

  • A higher level of care such as inpatient or intensive outpatient treatment is needed.

  • Court-ordered evaluations or forensic services are required.

When appropriate, we provide referrals.

Therapeutic Approach

Our work integrates:

  • Developmentally informed psychotherapy

  • Attachment-based therapy

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Emotional regulation skill development

We focus on helping teens understand and regulate emotions, strengthen identity, improve communication, and reduce anxiety-driven patterns.

Sessions balance emotional depth with practical tools teens can use in daily life.
