What happens after I request an appointment?
After you request your appointment, you might find yourself refreshing your inbox, wondering, “Did it go through? Did they pick me? Am I doing this right?”
Totally normal. We see you.As soon as your therapist confirms your request, you’ll get a return email with the details and next steps. We do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible — usually within 24–48 business hours.
In the meantime, know this:
We’re already holding space for you.
You’re not too much.
You’re not broken.
You’re not alone in feeling this way.
You’re exactly where you need to be. -
Do I have to fill out a lot of paperwork?
Ugh, paperwork! The paperwork that we have you complete is mandated by laws, but we make it as easy as possible.
You’ll receive an email from your Therapist asking you to set up your Client Portal where everything is located. You’ll complete each form with an electronic signature, upload your insurance information and put a credit card on file.
Please be sure to read the forms carefully and ask us any questions you have.
*Bookmark your Client Portal link for easy access!

What will my first session be like?
We get it — that first session can feel like a leap into the unknown. You might be thinking, “Where do I even start?!”
The good news? You don’t have to have it all figured out.
Your therapist will guide the conversation at a pace that feels comfortable.
It’s okay if you cry. It’s okay if you laugh. It’s okay if you don’t know what to say. This is your time, and there’s no “right” way to begin. We’re not here to judge you or rush you.
We’re here to get you — even the parts that feel messy, tangled or hard to explain. You won’t have to dive into your deepest trauma on Day One (unless that’s where you want to go). Think of it as starting a conversation — one where your story finally gets to take up space.
If you’ve been in therapy before and you’re nervous about “starting over,” we get that too. You don’t have to go all the way back. If that becomes important in the future, your Therapist will get you there. Just start from what’s going on now

How do I know this will actually help?
We hear this all the time — and honestly? It’s a fair question.
Maybe you’ve tried therapy before and left feeling unseen, unsupported or like it just didn’t go deep enough. Maybe you’ve never tried it, but you’re afraid to get your hopes up.Here’s what we want you to know:
Change doesn’t always come with fireworks. Sometimes, it starts with a sigh of relief. A sense that, “Okay… maybe this person actually gets me.”At Middle Path, we don’t offer cookie-cutter therapy. We meet you where you are.
We listen closely — to what you say and what you don’t say. We’re trained in approaches that go beyond surface-level talk, especially when you’ve been carrying trauma that’s still shaping your day-to-day life. And no, you don’t have to be “good at therapy.” You just have to show up.
We’ll walk with you from there.
